Alecto Edition
1985
In 1985, the American Museum of Natural History collaborated with Alecto Press of England to issue a set of full-sized, hand-colored restrikes from six of the original Havell copper plates. Less than 150 copies of each print were made. Each print has an indelible stamp on the back reading "American Museum of Natural History." The Alecto staff used modern inks and coloring methods.
The set was originally priced at $29,000 and has now (2005) increased to $50,000.
